The Township of McGarry seeks an independent
motivated individual to work in the Library.

REQUIREMENTS
-     Bilingualism (English and French) a requirement   
-     Posses good knowledge of office procedures            
-     Good typing skills
-     Sound communication and public relation skills
-     High school diploma and/or community college diploma
-     Computer literacy in Windows, Word, and Excel            
-     Ability to work with a minimum supervision

Chief Building Official/Inspector

The Temiskaming Municipal Services Association (TMSA) provides full Building Department Services to twenty-one Municipalities in the District of Timiskaming. The main office of the TMSA is within the Township of Armstrong Municipal Office located at 35 A Tenth Street, Earlton, Ontario.

Reporting to the Board of Directors of the TMSA, the Chief Building Official/Inspector manages the Building Department and is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of services including, but not limited to the following:

Application and plans examination to ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code and other applicable law;

Approving building permit applications and issuing building permits;

Acting as Building Inspector; performing site inspections to ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code and municipal by-laws;

Enforcement of the requirements of the Ontario Building Code;

The ideal candidate shall possess, or be willing to work towards obtaining the following qualifications:

Minimum 5 years industry related experience or post-secondary diploma in engineering or architectural technology.

Registered Building Official with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH);

Successful completion of provincial qualifications as required under the Building Code Act and as administered by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH), and/or willing to work towards obtaining these qualifications;

Minimum three years of management or supervisory experience;

Possess a valid Ontario driver’s license with a clean abstract.
