MAYOR MATT REIMER

About Mayor Reimer

Grew up in this community;
Attended school in Kearns and Virginiatown;
Graduated from high school and worked at the Kerr Addison mine with the samplers, was promoted to engineering department;
After 2 years I relocated to Toronto where I went back to school for computer programming and Technology;
After graduating from that course I worked for a financial institute for 1 year;
I worked for Kellogg Canada for 23 years;
I became knowledgeable in all aspects of building, property and office administration;
I travelled all over Canada and U.S.A.;
Returned to Virginiatown in 2002;
Became a member and executive on the XYZ seniors club;
I am a zone rep for Eastern Ontario seniors club for the USCO;
I am part of the KDCDC board;
Executive member of our Legion Branch 384;
I was councilor for 10 years and now I'm doing my first 4 year term as Mayor;

I've been on Council for 20 years;
I served as a Board Member for K.D.C.D.C.;
Currently sit on the Board of Director for the Family Health Team;
I helped found the long running Country Jamboree, The Memory Tree Program and the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony
